As someone who loves clothes and words of encouragement, I guess it shouldn’t be surprising that I’d one day want to blend those two attributes for some of the favorite people in my life.
Although I first had the idea for a line of tees that are for the wearer and not the world in late 2019, it wasn’t until 2020, in the frenzy of fear-inducing news and chaotic Manhattan evenings, that the idea seemed to have a need.
With a drastic change in schedule, I spent more time in my room and unfortunately overheard my neighbor yelling loudly at her child several times a day.
As an auntie, at that moment the tees seemed like a tangible item that could be helpful to the minds of young people. It’s taken some time, but the each year the idea has grown and has now become one of my passion projects. As adults we know there are people who say hurtful things accidentally and some who are willing to intentionally tear you down. However, my hope is that every word on every shirt would encourage little hearts to believe that there really is greatness inside of them. And I suppose I hope that even the slightest glance will shift things in the right direction, even if it’s by just one iota.
