Repetition is something I often use with my nieces, particularly when it comes to encouraging them. I like to remind them of who they are, how well they’re doing, and the potential they have to do great things.
My desire in creating Just One IOTA wasn’t to have just another apparel line for children. Although I love clothes probably just as much as the next person, I was motivated by my desire to see a change in young people and their mental and emotional health. I wanted to see children—even children I didn’t know—have a tangible reminder of who they are inside, of the intrinsic attributes that really matter.
Instead of worrying about things that won’t matter in a week or a year—which can be challenging to grasp when 30 minutes feels like eternity—I wanted to plant little seeds of clarity, positive self talk, and self esteem in littles in order to see them grow and flourish into strong, confident individuals who know their worth and don’t shrink back based on someone’s negative (and incorrect) comments.
The goal of Just One IOTA is to take the truth that resides within each child and put it on display for the child to see and be reminded of every time they catch their reflection. That is why each item is made to be read from the wearer’s point of view.
We all know that it’s what you think, believe, and say about yourself that matters the most. My desire is to see the truth of what they read in their reflection guide, stabilize, and even correct the way they see themselves so they can live in that reality and every negative word would fall on deaf ears.
